Day trips from Bishkek without a car
Without a car, you can visit the mountains, an ancient settlement and two towns in the Chuy Valley on a day trip from Bishkek. Ala-Archa National Park is a gorge 41 km away: bus No. 1 runs from Old Square right to the park. Burana Tower is an eleventh-century minaret near Tokmok: take a marshrutka (fixed-route minibus) to Tokmok, then a taxi. Tokmok J Kant lie on the road east; marshrutkas leave from the Eastern Bus Station.
