Rakhmonberdi Madazimov gathered a theatre troupe in Osh.
- 1979New building
The troupe moved into the current building.

The theatre was granted academic status.

A major renovation of the building began, funded by Uzbekistan.
- 2023Audiences return
After the renovation the theatre reopened on 24 April.
