Getting to the base

The entrance to Karakol Nature Park is about 6 km south of Karakol; the road continues Absamat Masaliyev Street. Marshrutka No. 101 reaches the start of the gorge; with a taxi, you can agree a drop-off at the first bridge in advance. Beyond the bridge, the mountaineering camp is about 10 km on foot one way, with a guide walking time of 3 hours 10 minutes; plan the return time separately. A 4WD to the second bridge takes about 1.5 hours from Karakol: the July 2026 guide price was 2,500 som per person with four passengers, plus 300 som for entry. The first bridge, second bridge and camp of the upper two-day programme are different drop-off points.
