The organiser advertises a walking programme for April–November; a winter visit is a separate trip, so confirm that the specific house you plan to visit is open and arrange transport in advance.

From Ak-Tilek Market in Karakol, take marshrutka No. 350 and ask to get off at the turn to Altyn-Arashan near Ak-Suu. The road to Ak-Suu sanatorium and the ascent along Arashan diverge; confirm the direction with the driver. Indicative figures for August 2026 were about 40 minutes and 50 som per person to the trailhead, then usually 5–6 hours on foot to the valley. A direct transfer requires a 4WD with a driver: the October 2026 indicative figures were 35 km and about 2 hours from Karakol, at 9,200 som per vehicle one way for up to four passengers. Agree the price, drop-off point and return transfer in advance: a return marshrutka may not come to the trailhead.
Money, SIM cards and help
Cash. Bring cash for accommodation, transport, the fee and bathing pools; keep your ticket. check for your date
Accommodation. A night in a simple guesthouse or yurt with dinner and breakfast costs roughly 1,000–2,500 som per person. Check the meals included and the price.
Shared car: about 1,000–3,000 som/person. A private 4×4 is priced by route and waiting time; check the price for your travel date.
Entry: about 250–300 som/person, cash at the barrier. Check parking prices on site for your travel date.
