The nearest base for the northern shore is Toktogul town; intercity transport arrives at the bus station. From Bishkek, allow 280 km and 5–6 hours by car. You need to book a separate taxi from the town to the local beach: there is no regular public transport to it. Agree the beach, drop-off point, waiting time and price per vehicle in advance; the walk to the panoramic viewpoint starts separately in central Toktogul.
