From Kochkor, book a transfer to the yurt camp at Batay-Aral in advance. The road via Kalmak-Ashuu takes about 3 hours; check pass conditions and agree the meeting point with the driver. The horseback approach starts near Kyzart: the transfer from Kochkor takes 1–1.5 hours, then the approach to the lake includes an overnight stay in Kilemche. The 2026 guide price for a three-day Kochkor–Kochkor programme is 375 dollars per person in June and September, or 425 in July and August for a group of at least four; two nights in yurts, meals and transport are included. Ask for the price of a separate transfer.
